Do you like these baby names?

My husband and I are having our first child and we can't agree on a boy name.

Girl- Jordan Kate or Jordan katelyn

boy- My husbands name or Jai Austyn

He wants to name his 2nd born after him but i think it should be the first! what do you think?

Thanks for your answers!

Do you like these baby names?
Jordan Kate is really cute. I think if it's a boy you should name if after your husband. But you should tell us your husbands name so i can tell you if you should do something different.
Reply:If i were you i wouldn't name your child after you (if its a girl) or after him. My reason is because that child will always be envyed by the other child, because he/she will feel that they have a higher amount of love from ya'll. Or i don't want you to lenger on this but if he doesn't have a good relationship with him he may resent the name and you for giving him the name. or if there is a divorce you may not want to remember him and that will always remind you of him. but i like the 2nd name... and what is your husbands name no one can say which one they like better because his name isnt on there
Reply:For generations people have been naming the first born boy after the father. Why not be different and name the second born after him?

Jai is usually pronounced "Jie" as in rhymes with "Tie"

I like the spelling Jaye or Jae better.
Reply:Too many Jordan and Katelyn's right now - and Jordan is kinda masculine. Maybe Katherine (Kate) or Katrina (a personal favorite).

I'm not sure how you pronounce Jai - and 8 million other people are going to ask him all his life how it's pronounced. How about Austin for a first name?
Reply:Have you heard of the english glamour model/celebrity Jordan? Shes living in La atm getting popular in america, married 2 peter andre? Well her real name is Katie but she goes by kate so shes always refered to as either Jordan or Kate.. Just puttin it out there.. comparisons and jokes are guna be made.

I like Jai Austyn :) Maybe just pick a middle name for jordan dat doesnt have kate in it for your childs sake
Reply:Girls: I extremely dislike Jordan as a girl's name, but I must commend you on not trash-ifying it even more by spelling it "Jordyn". *Shudders*

Kate seems more like just a nickname to me, and Katelyn looks trashy. Try the original spelling, Caitlin. Perhaps Caitlin Jane or Caitlin Jade would work for you? Jillian Catherine?

Boys: Jai seems misspelled, and will constantly BE misspelled. Austyn is horrid: Why are you trying to girl-ify a boy's middle name?

Try Jacob Austin, James Austin, Jordan Austin, Jared Austin, Jason Austin, Josiah Austin, Jesse Austin, Joel Austin, or Joseph Austin.

What is your husband's name?

Good luck!

~Emily-Maria

ETA: Okay, Justin's his name. Try Justin *father's middle name*! Then he'll be a Junior!

Plus, why can he share the same name (and by same, I mean same spelling -- Jaison looks ridiculous.) as your brother? It'd be a nice sentiment, don't you think?
Reply:I'm not a fan ok Jr's or II's so...but Jai..not a fan of that for a boy.

Jordan Kate is choppy to me but goes better than Jordan Katelyn..don't like the similar sounds...
Reply:Congratulations, here's hoping its gonna be a healthy baby ..

Jordan Kate sound great and so does Jai Austyn .. very unique. I think its kinda awkward to name your first born son Jordan Kate so its gotta be Jordan Kate.

So if its a girl, your hubby has to wait a while till the boys comes along. Good luck
Reply:girl-Jordan Kate

boy-Jai Austyn
Reply:I like Jordan Kate. Jordan Kayelyn sounds weird to me because they both end with an "N" sound. Then again, is it weird to have her middle name just be "Kate"? What about Jordan Elizabeth. Jordan Nicole. Jordan Marie. I love the name Jordan, because I think tomboyish names are so cute for little girls!!

I think that the first born is typically named after the dad, not the second. But my boyfriends dad named his 3rd after him! So I don't think it really matters. Make sure you really take your husband's opinion into consideration!! A lot of women think, "I'm going through all the hard stuff, I get to make the decisions" (I'm not saying that this is how you think) but don't forget that it's just as much his as it is yours!! Remind him, who says he'll get to have a 2nd boy? If he really wants to name a son after him, he should do it if this pregnancy is a boy, because he might just get daughters after this!! I really like the name Jai Austin by the way!
Reply:Jordan Kaitlyn

Jaison Austyn
